Montreal will face the Washington Capitals in Round 1 of the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
The Habs haven't made the postseason since 2020, when they went on a surprising run to the Stanley Cup Final during the Covid-impacted season. Those games were played in empty buildings, so it's been eight years since Canadiens fans could watch their team play in the playoffs.
