The race for the 2025 Stanley Cup Playoffs are set to get underway on Saturday, April 19, which makes this a perfect time to take a look at the odds for the Conn Smythe Award, which is given to the MVP of the postseason.
Connor Hellebuyck of the Winnipeg Jets and Nathan MacKinnon of the Colorado Avalanche are the co-favorites to win the award at +1400.
Edmonton's Connor McDavid is third on the board at +1600, followed by Vegas' Jack Eichel (+2000), Colorado's Cale Makar (+2200), Dallas netminder Jake Oettinger (+2200), and McDavid's teammate, Leon Draisaitl (+2200).
Nikita Kucherov of the Tampa Bay Lightning will surely garner some betting support at +2800, which is more than double the price of the Bolts to win the Stanley Cup, and Alex Ovechkin is likely to be one of the most popular bets at +3000.
Last year's winner, McDavid, was the betting favorite to win the award before the playoffs started, and he became the first player since Jean-Sebastian Giguere in 2003 to take home the honor despite not playing for the Stanley Cup champion.

The Conn Smythe Award is voted on by the hockey media during the Stanley Cup Finals.
Eight of the last 12 winners were forwards, and only three defenseman (Cale Makar in 2022, Victor Hedman in 2021, and Duncan Keith in 2015) have won the award since Scott Niedermayer of the Anaheim Ducks took it home in 2007.
Only one goaltender (Andrei Vasilevskiy in 2020) has won the award since Tim Thomas did so for the Boston Bruins in 2011.
